This set of 8 papers I have developed as a means to help organize my own studies of AAB and HPB, and I hope it will serve others as well. Its main purpose is to clarify the distinct names and terminology DK uses throughout his books to 'place' his discourse in relation to the planes; to allow contrast and differentiation to deepen reflection and enhance cognizance of a "meticulous Entirety." I cite chapter and verse, not out of dogmatism, but to facilitate further study and reflection. Its main purpose is to clarify the outlines of a vast visualization form for meditative practice and contemplation.

SEVEN SPIRITS BEFORE THE THRONE (105, 628; EP2.5-6; EH.583; WM.431)

      Monad   (____)
"They [egoic groups] are composed of those atoms, or types of lives, which are a part of the IVth Creative Hierarchy, the aggregate of purely human Monads.   ...the human Monads in their 7 types are found on the plane of spirit [atmic] - as it is the plane of duality - the deva monads are likewise found there. (690-1)
      Creative Hierarchic Unit   (EA._____)
      Monadic Auric Egg   (538, 1159_____)
"HPB states (SD2.________________________ [SD2.200-1; SD1.201, SD2.251-2]) that the individualized Monad has more spiritual consciousness than the monad itself on its own plane, the 2nd." (689)
We have seen that seven rays are seven differentiations of one great cosmic ray, effected within the very being of our solar Logos before He began His creation.   Now we know that the divine spark, the divine centre of consciousness in each one of us, comes from the highest principle of our Logos; it has therefore within it the potentiality of all the rays, but from the time when our Logos formed within Himself the countless centres of divine consciousness, each one of these centres was coloured by the special attributes of one or other of the rays.   Seeing that the moment each became limited (i.e. separated from the absolute consciousness of the Logos by even the finest veil of differentiation) it must necessarily belong to one or other of the rays, the very essence of our being, the central spark of the divine in each one of us, may thus be said to belong to one or other of the seven rays, and this may be spoken of as a man's primary ray. (EPI.168)
Monadic consciousness is not consciousness as we human beings understand it, it is that state of apprehension which is not consciousness or realization as the mystic feels it, or identification as the occultist terms it, but something that appears when all three are appreciated and registered in a moment of time within the orbit of space. (RI.108)
...states of registration or awareness which have no relation to sentiency as it expresses itself through consciousness,.... (RI.203)
But on the higher three levels of the Spiritual Triad ... consciousness (as we understand it) is being transcended, and a new aspect of universal sentiency is taking its place.   [ -- ] ...Identification.   ...[C]onsciousness eventually drops below the level of perception.   ... The will aspect of the Monad supercedes but does not negate love... a one-pointed, rapier-like assumption of identification takes the place of the inclusiveness hitherto felt and practised. (RI.282)
Here at Shamballa work Those Who have unified Their personality will and Their spiritual will with the universal will, and such a unification inevitably brings knowledge.   It is, however, not knowledge as you understand it.   It is a blend of wisdom based on knowledge, understanding based on intuitive perception, and identification based on alignment, esoterically comprehended.   For this peculiar condition of awareness we have no word in any language, and only the utilization (the trained utilization) of the abstract mind can possibly convey to you even an embryonic factual conception.   But that type of imaginative conception will become more common during the next two centuries, and my words here will therefore serve an ultimate purpose.   Those Who form the Council Chamber of the Great Lord are under no misapprehension as to His will because They see it whole.   Paul, the initiate, hints at this when writing one of the Epistles;   ...with the theme of Love, which is the fundamental hierarchical theme and motive.
..."Now we see through a glass darkly, but then face to face;   now we know in part, but then shall we know even as we are known." (ExH.532-3)
After the Master has taken the fifth initiation, He has—as you know—covered and mastered the ordinary field of evolution for humanity; that means the three worlds of ordinary human experience and the two worlds of superhuman effort, making the five fields of the spiritual activity of man. Love and intelligence are now perfectly developed in Him, though their expression and emphasis may vary according to His rays; He is aware of the fact of the Will or of the first divine aspect, with its two qualities (veiling a third) of destruction and of purpose; He is becoming active on the second plane of our planetary life, the monadic plane, and that great centre of life, Shamballa, is having a definite vibratory effect upon Him; also (and this will be incomprehensible to you) He is becoming sensitive to a range of energies and influences which can now be registered by Him, owing to His increasing monadic polarisation and His contact with Shamballa.
The cosmic astral plane becomes, for the Master, a definite objective; He is beginning to develop a great sensitivity to that level of awareness, but consciousness of that within the planetary life—as He knows it—prevents Him from registering this energy of pure cosmic love as He later will. It is this sense of limitation which is the cause of His recognition of the Door on to the Way of the Higher Evolution, for the fifth and sixth initiations liberate Him into the atmic and monadic states of awareness; these initiations are to the initiate at this stage of development what the first and second initiations are to the disciple who is seeking to tread the earlier stages of the Path of Initiation. (RI 360-1)
Only when the initiate has attained, through monadic contact, a touch of the Universal Mind can the Purpose be sensed by him;   this involves also the development of the abstract mind, plus the residue of the mental perception which the Son of Mind (the soul) has bequeathed to him;   through all this unfoldment he can join the group who are the Formulators of the Plan. (TEV.71)   cf. 686, 529

Substantial Focus. Just as the heart is the primary focus for the vital principle, the generative organs in their relation to spleen and adrenals are the secondary focus for average humanity (LOM.184).   These facts are definitely related to the instinctive response of animal man to individualization during the Moon Chain and involved 7th Ray use of force (EP1.258-61) to stimulate the sense of self-perpetuation in its lower connotation, and self-preservation in its higher sense of self-identity formation and perpetuation in modern man (WM.284-5).   Another way of putting this is that the primordial sex relation is that of the soul to its lower vehicles, particularly the physical/etheric (EA.385).   While sex has its place in a rhythmic and sane lifestyle, it is often used as an escape from the inner unity and psychological fusion which is really craved. As Krishnamurti once remarked, it is one of the few ways humans have of losing all sense of self, even though a transient experience, and this is a very human and mystical need.   It is associated to both rejuvenation of self-concept and identity as well as inward fusion with the higher Self and liberation.   Finally, this human preoccupation with Identity is seen in the long "evolution" of the "lunar monads," and conscious participation with the monadic periodical vehicle &mdash from lunar chain individualization to the goal of increasing monadic contact through the planetary initiations in this solar system.   Just so, in "out particular solar system, the force of attraction of form to form is transmuted, and the attractive force of the soul takes the place of the reproductive creative material activity." (WM.287)   It is interesting that DK mentions that humanity is undergoing particular stimulation along these lines due to 7th Ray inflow through the sacral center of the planetary etheric vehicle (EP1.280), ringing about experimentation and distress in the various marriage relationships at this time.

Chakra Focus on Planes.     Just as the personality utilizes the 3-fold personality sheathes, the soul the personality, the triad the soul, and the monad the triad, the Monad on its own plane utilizes the 3 periodical vehicles altogether in their energy aspect as it flows through the monadic unit, causal body and the 3 permanent atoms (1050), successively and simultaneously.   Each of the permanent atoms reflects one of the periodic vehicles and its Ray (70-71).

In some introductory remarks on esoteric psychology (EP2.6), DK explicitly states that the immediate evolutionary objective for the 4th Kingdom is to become aware of the Planetary Logos' causal consciousness and Plan, "as it is known and expressed by the 7 Spirits Before the Throne," [emphasis added], His name on the 2nd plane of the monads (628), where humanity's first or highest principle (being considered out of incarnation, the physical body itself not a principle) is located (264).   This statement regarding principles is true for a particular stage or cycle, the planetary manvantara (47), or perhaps just our 4th Round, depending on the individual unit concerned.

Humanity proper, or the 4th Creative Hierarchy of monads in its relationship with the Hierarchy, Nirmanakayas (Chohans), and Shamballa (5th, 6th, and 7th Kingdoms respectively), channels the creative forces of the planetary throat center;   humanity in relation to the 7 kingdoms as a whole (not just 4th and 5th), represents the sacral center and gonads durig the 1? transfer of lower creative energies to the higher creative throat center (EP1.221);   the Hierarchy the heart energies;   Planetary Nirmanakayas (RI 733-5) the ajna forces;   Shamballa the head energies (TEV 125).

EP2.294-5, 302, EH.642, 619, EH194-7, 302 in re Antahkarana betw. Monad, Personality & chakras

Creative Hierarchic Focus on Planes.     Indeed, Ray Two monads are not just found on the 2nd subplane of the monadic plane, a few 1st Ray monads are on the atomic subplane, and a fair number from the previous solar system are found on the 3rd (578).   This is related primarily to the individualizing groups of souls (EP2.201).   Most of the souls in humanity today are found on the 3rd Ray as monads (EP2.101).

In a lower correspondence, during the transition from the 3rd to 4th initiations, and depending on the ray constitution, the causal body is found on the 2nd subplane of the mental plane.   DK mentions that it is here that the monad begins to exert significant control (578).   Again, on the 4th monadic subplane, the transition from Egoic to Monadic Ray takes place (119, 305), with its implications of synthesis for our Heavenly Man (314), particularly pronounced at the human 4th and 6th initiations (121).

It is at this point, drawing the inference through correspondence, that the monad (in its own sphere of "isolated unity") assumes control or mastery as adept of the Five Worlds of planetary or "superhuman" (EA 94) evolution.   This process can be seen in the monad's five planes of expression (538) focused down into its heart center, the causal body (538), with which it initially identified its "Self" (832), or better put, with which the individualized jiva or life principle assumed identification.

With the relinquishment of the causal body (and soul focus) at the 4th initiation, the monad is left with the threefold antahkarana thread which can be focused at will upon the physical plane by the monad (RI 101).

On the next or Adi plane, in turn, monadic essence is distinguished from all that below it on the six lower subplanes, or elemental essence (75). [5th init. - expand 1 sentence]

However it is upon the Atmic plane that 6th and 7th degree initiations are taken, the 5-pointed star becomes the 7-pointed star, and the initiate "enters into the Flame" (697).   At the 6th initiation the monad is "resolved into its primal monadic source," as the 5 lesser sheathes (and the Triad [RI 284]) are destroyed as the Chohan discards them (569).   At the 7th initiation, the Chohanic monads are not disintegrated, as are the lower sheathes in earlier initiations, but they are synthesized (580).   The 3rd plane solar Law of Disintegration only controls from this 3rd plane down.

Since members of `humanity' have freedom on higher planes than the monadic, this suggests that the 7 principles are strictly related to Humanity's 4th Kingdom aspect (See, however, the earlier tabulation on the Principles).

From the perspective of the 5th Kingdom of souls, Humanity may be considered the perfected personality/soul;   human physical chakras at this stage constituting petal substance (861) of the planetary Logos' physical vehicle chakras (TEV 125), and human causal vehicles in ashramic group formation the planetary Logos' causal body.

Beyond the consciousness of the Monad on its own plane, moreover, the individualized Monad has even greater spiritual consciousness (689; SD1.180-1; SDII.(230-1, ___)   The human individualized monad, or 'spark' aspect, has relation to the ETERNAL NOW of the Grand Heavenly Man or solar Logos taking incarnation simultaneously through three vestures or solar systems, a parallel to man taking incarnation through the Three World bodies and yet operating distinctly in each vehicle. (1088)

monadic Spirit Before the Throne   (TEV 161)
Planetary Spirit   (105) (WM.432) - makes its impact via the soul (Heavenly Man aspect)
The One Ray of Divinity, the Central Light, triple and septenary   (IHS.3)
Sanat Kumara   (IHS.28-9)       His outstanding ray influence, in this case, His personality ray.   In this conditioning influence is found a clue to the distress and agony and pain in the world today.   The planetary Logos of our Earth is primarily conditioned by a cosmic ray, to be sure, but not by His egoic ray. (EPI.338)
Speaking therefore in terms of man's life problem, we might state that it is affected potently by the two major influences which beat upon the human kingdom, the cosmic ray of the solar system, the Ray of Love-Wisdom, and the cosmic ray of the planet, which is the personality ray of the planetary Logos, the Ray of Active Intelligence or Adaptability. (EP1.339)
      2. That the first vibration or influencing energy of the cosmic ray of prevailing energy in its highest aspect is the Ray of Love-Wisdom, and this is now contacted;   this is made possible by the Master's response to the first Ray of Power or of the Will-to-Good, experienced in its second aspect at the fifth initiation.   Forget not that all rays have three aspects, and that all three can be contacted by the human consciousness of the spiritual man, thus placing at his disposal the energies of the seven rays and of the twenty-one forces.   It is this synthesis which is revealed at the fifth initiation and—as I said above—the combination of these forces produces the Ascension;   this is an exceeding great mystery and one which cannot as yet be grasped by you.   From the height of the Mount of Ascension light is thrown upon the hierarchical Plan in such a manner that the purpose in the mind of the planetary Logos is (for the first time) truly grasped. (RI 644-5)
The Planetary Logos of our earth scheme, one of the Seven Spirits before the throne, took physical incarnation, and, under the form of Sanat Kumara, the Ancient of Days, and the Lord of the World, came down to this dense physical planet and has remained with us ever since.   Owing to the extreme purity of His nature, and the fact that He is (from the human standpoint) relatively sinless, and hence incapable of response to aught on the dense physical plane, He was unable to take a dense physical body such as ours, and has to function in His etheric body….   He is the Silent Watcher, as far as our immediate humanity is concerned, although literally the Planetary Logos Himself, on the higher plane of consciousness whereon He functions, is the true Silent Watcher where the planetary scheme is concerned.   Perhaps it might be stated thus:-That the Lord of the World, the One Initiator, holds the same place in connection with the Planetary Logos as the physical manifestation of a Master holds to that Master's Monad on the monadic plane.   In both cases the intermediate state of consciousness has been superseded, that of the Ego or higher self, and that which we see and know is the direct self-created manifestation of pure spirit itself.   Hence the sacrifice. (IHS.28-9)
As we approach the subject of the seven Paths, I would point out that the only basic point which can be presented to you is that of relationship. All these seven Paths lead to some objective which is thereby put in touch with our planetary life; these objectives—with the life and conditions they represent—present to the Master a vision of possibility. This vision is adequate to the task of drawing Him forth from the hierarchical Ashram, except in one case where vacancies in Shamballa need to be filled. The progressive experience of the greater Lives Who work in the Council Chamber of Sanat Kumara form no part of our studies. Many of these supreme Workers, as you have read in A Treatise on Cosmic Fire, found Their way to our planet from our sister planet, Venus, thereby in Their turn establishing relationship. Remember also that all the seven rays are the subrays of the great cosmic Ray of Love-Wisdom, which is ever expressive of relationship, implemented under the Law of Attraction; it is this form of esoteric attraction which draws the Master forth from His Ashram, conditions His decision and eventually leads to His passing through the door which opens on to other spheres and planes of activity. (RI 397)

The Lords of the seven Rays are the informing Lives of the sacred and non-sacred planets, mentioned by HPB in her Secret Doctrine as the "imperfect Gods." DK gives them the name Spirits "Before the Throne of God" to emphasize that they have not yet acceded to that Throne, "or yet achieved complete divine expression." (EH.292-3, 298) He characterizes their karmic "imperfections" as the "seven aspects of intelligent materiality," (EH.305) thus indicating the fact that their imperfect karma arose from the previous Ray III solar system and is present in this Ray II system as a liability and as the need and opportunity to express magnetic love-wisdom through substance "tainted" with previous karma.

These (monadic) Seven Spirits Before the Throne constitute, on Their own plane, the logoic "jewel in the Lotus" (628), or the groups of Lives entifying a planetary Scheme (232). They also represent the 7 head centers of the planetary Logos, with that of Sanat Kumara presiding. (IHS.30-1)

Hence in illustration it might be said that the coming into incarnation of Sanat Kumara was analogous to the firm grip of self-conscious control that the Ego of a human being takes upon his vehicles when the necessary stage in evolution has been achieved.   It has been said that in the head of every man are seven centres of force, which are linked to the other centres in the body, and through which the force of the Ego is spread and circulated, thus working out the plan.   Sanat Kumara, with the six other Kumaras, holds a similar position.   These central seven are as the seven head centres to the body corporate.   They are the directing agents and the transmitters of the energy, force, purpose, and will of the Planetary Logos on His own plane.   This planetary head centre works directly through the heart and throat centres, and thereby controls all the remaining centres.   This is by way of illustration, and an attempt to show the relation of the Hierarchy to its planetary source, and also the close analogy between the method of functioning of a Planetary Logos and of man, the microcosm. (IHS.30-31)
Elementary Focus.
[ See (CF.533 ff) solar beings and the permanent atoms ]

Substantial Focus.     The Earth School (or scheme [1180]) is that one cultivating Magnetic Response, and is an expression of the threshold to consciousness of the Planetary Monad within the 4th Creative Hierarchy, or the "inner round" (1175, 1164, 851-2). This is necessarily reflected down into the Ray II planetary Logos' causal vehicle proper and the egoic groups that make it up. A proportionately greater number of human monads become Lords of Compassion than Masters of Wisdom (1243). The Heavenly Man (planetary Logoic causal) is astrally polarized (687), even while His egoic outpost as a Triad is buddhic-atmic (349), since the planetary (lower) Antahkarana has already been fully established 18M years ago, at a particular initiation (_____). His incentive is said to be cosmic atmic, as His source is said to be Monadic (305), and outside the solar system. (See Chart at 344, cosmic monadic plane, of solar-systems Systems level.) Humanity's purpose is to "measure up" and function as divine intermediary between the lower and higher kingdoms and creative hierarchies, producing coherence and cohesion through invocative/evocative Magnetic Response.

It may be inferred that the "long-term" goal of the planetary Logos on planetary manasic and buddhic levels is to incorporate cosmic will by becoming a "Lion of Cosmic Will," even though we see that the goal of human monadic groups through which it expresses are predominantly focused "psychically" and "manasically" on the two aspects of the 2nd Ray planetary Soul, as Lords of Compassion (predominantly) and Wisdom (less frequently). This inference is reinforced by the Sirian or solar causal name "Lord of Cosmic Will" on the plane of the planetary Manasaputra, the solar name of "Lion of Cosmic Will" on planetary Atmic planes, and the name "Fiery Lions" and "Lions of Life" (SD1.213) for the collectivities of fire dhyanis which make up the corporate nature of the Dhyan Chohans of the 1st (or 6th) Creative Hierarchy, who hold in trust the future evolution of human monads as they slowly "pass through the Flame" (47) onto the cosmic astral or psychic planes on the Way of the Higher Evolution, after the 6th initiation. This is the path to the greater freedom and consciousness of the "individualized monad" (see VI.1) upon the Ray Paths, which are described at (SD1._____; 2._________).

Chakra Focus on the Planes.     The Heavenly Men, therefore, have centers on 3 solar planes, a fact to be remembered.
  a.   On the Monadic plane, the plane of the 7 Rays.
  b.   On the buddhic plane, where the Masters and their disciples form the 49 centers in the bodies of the 7 Heavenly Men.
  c.   On the 4th etheric physical plane, where the sacred planets, the dense bodies in etheric matter of the Heavenly Men, are to be found. (166)

The Heavenly Man has "a semi-permanent body on the monadic levels of the solar system, but manifests through 3 lower sheathes, our atmic, buddhic and manasic levels." (271)   The force of these centers originates on the cosmic mental plane (165) from the Heavenly Man on His own plane (271).

A Heavenly Man has His source outside the solar system..." (271);   He has a cosmic path to tread" (305).
One permanent cosmic Ray is the ray of our Logos Himself, and the subrays of this ray permeate His entire system.   Six other cosmic Rays, animating other systems, influence ours, finding their reflections in the subrays of our logoic Ray.   To these six cosmic influences our Heavenly Men respond.   They absorb the influence, being centres in the body logoic, pass it through Their schemes, circulate it through Their own centres (chains), and transmit it on to other schemes, coloring it with Their Own peculiar shade and qualifying it by Their own peculiar tone or note. (437)
While the Heavenly Man, as representing the soul aspect of the planetary Logos, is polarized astrally as a personality, He has already developed manas and is seeking the "gradual expansion of Soul Knowledge" necessary to become a Son of Wisdom (305).   As discussed in Chap. 3, His Triadal polarization or Egoic outpost as a monad is most probably buddhic-atmic (177).

Only 2 of the Heavenly Man's chakras are formed of the present group of incarnating egos, units of the IVth Creative Hierarchy (379), since the Heavenly Man exists and has His consciousness on His own plane, outside our highly limited perception of Time.   This has relation to the mass of human monads to be found on the 2nd and 3rd subplanes of the systemic monadic plane, with a few exceptions on the 1st subplane. (See Section 1 above.)   Of course, this does not eliminate the fact that other Creative Hierarchies compose His other centers.

The 7 Ray emanations of the 7 Spirits "... are in their totality the etheric vehicle of the Planetary Logos..." since the ethers and centers are monadic in nature — even in the human constitution (166; EA._____).

These 7 Spirits emanate from the 2nd plane the 7 Rays, which could be said to make up the etheric vehicle of the planetary Logos (TEV.161).   The Rays are denominated (atmic) Ray Lords only when the rays have individualized (______).   These 7 Spirits express the soul as the totality of consciousness residing behind the form (in the sacred, rather than non-sacred planets), and are called Spirits Before the Throne on this monadic plane, in this sense.

On the 2nd plane the 7 Heavenly Men are the force centers of the solar system of our solar Logos (273), Who is the heart center of the ONE ABOUT WHOM NAUGHT MAY BE SAID.   Therefore, the 7 Heavenly Men, the 3 synthesizing schemes, and physical "allied etheric spheres" (511) are the 12 petals of the heart center in the Body of the ONE ABOUT WHOM NAUGHT MAY BE SAID (520).   This is the plane of the First Fall, the taking of etheric "formless" form by the HMen, and involving the IInd CH prototypes of the IVth CH human jivas or monads (44).   Henceforth 6 cosmic or extra-systemic Rays circulate through and among six centers on this 2nd ether of the Vishnu Aspect (437).

Manasic Focus.
Kumaras, 7 qualities of wisdom (216)

The seven qualities of wisdom, which are produced by the cosmic entities, the Kumaras by the aid of knowledge through the medium of matter. (CF 216)

It should here be pointed out that the manasic principle (whether cosmic, systemic, or human) manifests in five ways, is transmuted into wisdom after its fivefold manifestation, and eventually is resolved into pure will or power.   Herein lies the clue;   all the objective display we see around us in connection with the Heavenly Men, and with the cells of Their bodies, [Page 402] lies hidden in this.   Herein may be found the mystery of the five Kumaras, Who are awaiting the final resolution,... (CF 401-2)

The Council Chamber of the Lord of the World is found on the Logoic plane (TEV.119) from where He formulates His Plan in dynamic substance or magnetized consciousness (TEV.70) on the monadic plane, and then passes it down through the Buddhas of Activity and Department Heads on the 3 planes of the Triad (TEV.119).

The substance of the Plan itself is registered through the (monadic) Law of Imminence, through "atmic realization," and (buddhic) pure reason (TEV.68-9).   Through the door of Identification, initiates are allowed access to the Council Chamber on the logoic plane, from where they may receive "monadic impression" (TEV.74).   Thus the initiate becomes a member of the group who are Formulators of the Plan (TEV.71) in the Mind of God, through His Representative.

Planetary Antahkarana
Forget not that relating our planet to the planet Venus is a planetary antahkarana, passing from thence to the Heart of the Sun and later to the cosmic mental plane.   There are "rainbow bridges" carrying the sevenfold energies of the seven rays from planet to planet, from system to system, and from plane to plane on cosmic levels.   It is over these bridges that the will of the related spiritual Identities is projected, producing that synthesis of effort which is distinctive of the cooperative systemic life.   The work of the Masters in training from our planet is, among other [Page 407] things, to unfold within Themselves not only sensitivity to systemic purpose, but the ability to transmit that Purpose to the Council Chamber at Shamballa.   They have-in an extraplanetary sense-a definite correspondence with and relation to the group of Nirmanakayas within our planet Who work in contemplative activity with the antahkarana which connects the Hierarchy with Shamballa and Humanity with the Hierarchy. (RI.407)

The planetary lower Antaskarana, linking higher and lower mind, forms part of the 4th Path (to Sirius), which allows the transfer of the "bulk of our humanity to this distant objective." (1258)

The direct impact of Shamballa forces on Humanity itself "acts as a great aligning antahkarana between the three planetary centers." (ExH.525)

The 7 Paths unitedly form the (higher) planetary Antahkarana (RI.724).

It is the Sacred Planets Who are occupied with the synthesizing work of the planetary Monad. (EA 506) and registering contact with the Pleiades. The Non-Sacred Planets are still responsive in the main to the solar vitalization associated with Sirius. (EA 504)

      systemic Kumaras   (IHS 219)

Kumaras.     The highest seven self-conscious beings in the solar system.   These seven Kumaras manifest through the medium of a planetary scheme in the same way as a human being manifests through the medium of a physical body.   They are called by the Hindu "the mind-born sons of Brahma", amongst other names.   They are the sumtotal of intelligence and of wisdom.   Within the planetary scheme the reflection of the systemic order is also seen.   At the head of our world evolution stands the first Kumara, aided by six other Kumaras, three exoteric and three esoteric.   Who are the focal points for the distribution of the force of the systemic Kumaras.

Parabrahman might be considered the ineffable MONADIC Aspect of the solar Logos (EA 416, 608, ______), or the Kosmic Prototype of the logoic Flame Divine on cosmic and systemic planes. Of course, the solar Logos Monadic aspect would be found on a 6th plane -- above HPB's 5 Kosmic (Supercosmic) planes, which are to be found above DK's 7 cosmic (HPB's Prakritic) planes. The 7 cosmic planes are only the "field of evolution" of the solar Logos (Chart at 344).

The Divine Flame is produced by the impact of the solar Logoic Personality's cosmic astral impact on the 2nd systemic or monadic plane (54, 47). "The Divine Flame is formed on the 2nd subplane, the monadic, and magnetism (which is a method of demonstrating radiatory fire) is therefore felt paramountly on the 4th and 6th planes, or through the buddhic and astral vehicles. These are, as we know, closely allied with the 2nd plane." (54) The Monadic Flame Divine is governed by the Law of Synthesis, and is to be found on the cosmic planes.

The Logoic Flame Divine is the distinguishing mark of our Logos, and the sign of His place in cosmic evolution (38), and is associated with what DK calls the "ineffable MONADIC Aspect of the solar Logos (EA.416, 608) which is associated with the LOGOS ruling the Sirian System of seven solar systems. The OAWNMBS on this high level is often given the name of Sirius, using the Egoic name of the solar Logos to represent the MONAD, and the name of the star Sirius to represent the Sirian System of 7 solar systems. The Sirian System is our Prototype for any speculation on solar schemes -- as distinct from the planetary schemes with which we are familiar through the writings of HPB and DK.

Elementary Focus.

Substantial Focus. Here we come to the distinction between pure Spirit and the Monad &mdash or spiritual Force entering our seven planes from the 1st cosmic physical subplane, the Adi, prior to the experience of consciousness per se, but producing the reaction which generates the pure consciousness of the Monad. As expressed in Tibetan tantric terminology, this represents the life aspect experience of what can only be characterized as emptiness/infinity, as it merges with the consciousness aspect of the clear light of bliss of the 2nd plane Monad. It is only at the third stage that the -------

These first 3 planes of our perceptible solar system (first 3 planetary ethers) are given yogic meditative practices in the Tibetan tantric tradition, namely Maha, Anu and Ati Yogas, or techniques of at-one-ment, union, and identification, respectively. As DK puts it quite beautifully, "We are dealing, therefore, as far as consciousness is concerned, with what might be regarded symbolically as the brain reaction and response to cosmic purpose — the brain reaction of God Himself." (EP2 6)

Here in this quote is a reiteration that our 7 planes represent only the physical or form vehicle of the Solar Logos, and therefore are essentially realms of Planetary endeavor, explaining the fact that while they are termed the "Seven Planes of Our Solar System" in Chart III (117), this terminology emphasizes "system," which indicates the physical etheric and form aspect. CHART V, "Evolution of A Solar Logos," suggests it is applicable to more than one Solar Logos. This CHART V places, as well, the solar causal body on the 1st subplane of the cosmic mental plane.

Chakra Focus on Planes. In the Body of a cosmic Logos, the solar Logos is one center (292), the heart center.
"Each of these [7 cosmic] Paths eventually leads to one or the other of the 6 constellations [not systems] which (with ours) [the Sirian System] form the 7 centers in the body of the One About Whom Naught May Be Said" (1242).
On this cosmic systemic plane, the 7 constellations send their influences through the 7 Rishis of the Great Bear and the Three Major Constellations (Sirian head, heart and throat) to the 7 spirillae of the solar Logoic physical permanent atom, which correspond to the manifestation or externalization of the 7 Planes of the Solar System (1180); through the central buddhic plane for the four lower chakras.

Sirian Monad, Solar Triple Jewel (EA.416)
    UMaj monad will Shamballa

    Pleiades form active intelligence Humanity

          One of 7 Rishis
Cosmic Ray   [of one Sun of the seven solar systems of the Sirian System, the Son of UMaj and the Pleiades]
The seven Rays of which we hear so much, and which hold so much of interest and of mystery, are likewise but the seven sub-rays of one cosmic Ray. (IHS 4)
First, we have the animating fires of the solar system, which are the fires of the primordial ray of active intelligent matter;   these constitute the energy of Brahma, the third aspect of the Logos.   Next are to be found the fires of the divine Ray of Love-Wisdom, the ray of intelligent love, which constitutes the energy of the Vishnu aspect, the second aspect logoic. 4&super;   Finally are to be found the fires of the cosmic mental plane, which are the fires of the cosmic ray of will.   They might be described as the rays of intelligent will and are the manifestation of the first aspect logoic, the Mahadeva aspect.5   Therefore we have three cosmic rays manifesting: (38-9)
[Path Five]   Later he will have his habitat on the planet corresponding to his own ray, and not on the earth unless he is on the ray of the Planetary Logos holding sway upon the earth.   Later again as his evolution progresses, he will pass to the sun;   then having mastered all connected with vibration in this system he will pass to the cosmic system, going off his own ray (which is but a subsidiary ray of one cosmic ray), on to the corresponding cosmic ray. (IHS 189)
Exoteric orange is a blend of yellow and red;   esoteric orange is a purer yellow, and the red scarcely is seen at all.   This orange comes in as a vibration set up by a cosmic ray, for you have to remember that this fifth ray (just as the fifth plane and the fifth principle) is closely allied to the cosmic ray of the intelligence, or to that activity aspect that found its great expression in the first solar system.   The synthetic ray of that time was the green ray, and it found one of its closest alliances in the ray of orange, or mind or intelligence demonstrating through form.   You get a correspondence in this solar system in the synthetic Ray of Love and Wisdom, and its close relationship to the fourth Ray of Harmony. (LOM 216)
When the primordial ray of intelligent activity, the divine ray of intelligent love, and the third cosmic ray of intelligent will meet, blend, merge, and blaze forth, the Logos will take His fifth initiation, thus completing one of His cycles. (45)
Because of the achieved synthesis of the solar Triad (Soul/Personality), this great Sun, Sirius, is said to be "to our solar Logos what the Monad is to spiritual man..." (RI.413)   Yet the solar Logos is said to be “astrally polarized.”

The 7 Cosmic Planes are systemic, which suggests Sirian physical substance and form planes, since the Solar causal body corresponds to the atomic or 1st subplane of the cosmic mental plane (not the 3rd), and is represented by Sirius (taking incarnation on the cosmic monadic plane), hypothesized as Ray II veiling the Seven Solar Systems.   The 7 Sirian Cosmic Systemic Planes may also be called the 7 Solar Planes, observing DK's usage on a planetary level, above (_________).   Therefore, also, Chart III might be termed "Evolution of a Planetary Logos."

The manasic focus that Sirius brings, in its capacity as source of solar Manas, is illustrated if the 5 Liberated Creative Hierarchies are considered the Prototype, in aggregate, of the Fivefold Brahma Aspect of 5 planetary schemes of the Kumaras, expressing through the solar soul-infused Manasic Personality.   In its turn, this Personality serves as prototype to Venus, soul of the Earth, and Ruler through 5-fold Kshitigarbha of the Makara, Capricornian source of human mental impulses on a strictly human animal personality level (___________), inherited from the "lunar" chain (__________).

Reiterating, this helps explain the concept of the Kingdoms as evolution of Solar Purpose through the evolutionary or environmental field of an evolving Planetary Life on 7 Globes (__________).   The Creative Hierarchies reveal the evolution of Sirian PURPOSE through the evolutionary and environmental field of evolving Solar Life through 7 Chains within a "scheme of evolution" (__________).

To instantiate this concept more graphically, it must be remembered that unlike the 5th Kingdom (of Souls), the Vth Creative Hierarchy (the Triads) cannot incarnate in human form on the gross physical plane, restricting themselves to work in the Five planetary, and Seven solar Worlds.   Whereas it may be assumed that 5th, 6th, and 7th Kingdoms are most definitely working in human vehicles in the Three Worlds of Human endeavor.   Certainly this is true in the case of the Kingdom of Souls, as is reiterated throughout the Bailey books, and is there presented as the primary goal of Humanity's endeavor at this point in history.

          7 Rishis (_____)
Indescribable, Absolute Monad, and Ineffable Cause of the Seven Solar Systems   (EA 608)

It is important to note that the Seven Rishis on Their Own plane stand as prototypes to the seven planetary Logoi, Who in turn are their representatives, and Who as planetary Spirits manifest as the seven sacred planets on our systemic monadic plane. (EA 85)

Secondly it must be recognized that these Seven Spirits Before the Throne are representatives of the Seven Rishis (on Their own cosmic monadic plane) as they are united on the cosmic buddhic plane with Their wives the Pleiades. On this cosmic buddhic plane the planetary Logoi are known as the Seven Heavenly Men, whose Divine Manasaputra causal bodies are to be found on the third subplane of the cosmic mental plane. (EA 269) The Seven Rishis of the Great Bear are the Monadic aspect to the seven Heavenly Men. (273) The seven Pleiades supervise the evolutionary development of cosmic manas and the causal body for the Heavenly Men from the cosmic buddhic plane.

The energies of the constellation of the Great Bear expressing will and purpose are also the essential nature of the solar Logoic Monad on its own monadic plane (RI 416), where the seven constellations forming centers in the body of the COSMIC LOGOS are to be found. Ursa Major or the Great Bear, the Sirian System of seven suns, and the Pleiades are the Three Intimate Constellations related to the monadic and triadic focus of our solar Logos.

Sirius constitutes the solar Logoic Monad as it relates to the spiritual Triad (RI 413) and the evolution of solar logoic manas (EA 679). Sirius operates as Mahat in close cooperation with the Pleiades as manas manifests systemically, or in physical incarnation. (1258) These Three Major Constellations become active through the "Transmitters of the Word" who transmit energies from the logoic seven head centers through to the head, heart and throat centers of the Brahma aspect. (922)

The interaction of Ursa Major and the Pleiades with Ursa Minor (called by HPB the 7 stars of the 7 head centers of Draco, the Dragon [SD1.411; 2.361n]) have brought into being the 7 solar systems, which "galaxies of stars" constitute the dense physical vehicle of "Sirius" or the ONE ABOUT WHOM NAUGHT MAY BE SAID (EA 608), whose 7 head centers are the 7 stars of Ursa Major (182).

Since the actualizers of the solar centers (617) or the buddhic ashrams, channel the 7 energies of the 7 solar systems through our planetary and solar Logoi's physical chakras, together they must represent the planetary 2nd subplane monadic aspect, a cell in the body of a solar Logos on His own plane, incarnating through groups of Planetary (not human) Egos on the cosmic buddhic plane where the Seven Regents of the Great Bear are to be found and where the Dragon of Wisdom (solar Mahat) takes form (1047).

The Rishis of the Great Bear, one of 7 cluster systems of 7 cosmic Logoi each, on Their Own cosmic akashic (or monadic) 2nd plane (344, 156, 1162), transmit 2 types of force through the solar Egoic astral focus (2nd solar system) to the Heavenly Men (their 2-jewelled causal bud), and are to the Heavenly Men what the Monads are to the human (273, 692n; SD2 332n).   [ It may be relevant here to consider whether the planetary Logos does not manifest through a double-jeweled causal body with 5 tiers of 5 petals each (see CF 533, 433-5, 395-6, 441, 334-7, 702-3, 841-2, 585, 604-5, 361-2, 188), at least in the case of the Earth Logos. ]
