Chapter 7 THE PLANETARY LOGOS SIRIAN, SOLAR, PLANETARY & HUMAN PERSPECTIVES

Abbreviations within the text itself will occasionally include CHs for Creative Hierarchies, EGs for Egoic Groups, Ks for Kingdoms, and RRs for Rootraces, the psychic life of a nation (not the physical/material/socioeconomic).

All simple page notations refer to Alice A. Bailey's A Treatise on Cosmic Fire unless otherwise indicated by a 2/3-letter abbreviation. All citations to Helena Petrovna Blavatsky's Secret Doctrine are to the Theosophical Univesity Press centennial (facsimile) edition of 1988.

This set of 8 papers I have developed as a means to help organize my own studies of AAB and HPB, and I hope it will serve others as well. Its main purpose is to clarify the distinct names and terminology DK uses throughout his books to 'place' his discourse in relation to the planes; to allow contrast and differentiation to deepen reflection and enhance cognizance of a "meticulous Entirety." I cite chapter and verse, not out of dogmatism, but to facilitate further study and reflection. Its main purpose is to clarify the outlines of a vast visualization form for meditative practice and contemplation.

PLANETARY LOGOS
PLANETARY LOGOS within the FIRE of the DIVINE SPARK, DIVINE FLAME and DIVINE RAY LIFE (38-9, 41-44, 47, 54) of the 3 Logoi — Mahadeva, Vishnu & Brahma (313) on the 3 highest planes Divine Spark [of Identity] (683, ____) Primordial Fire (626) Sea of Fire (43, 79, 887) on the Archetypal Plane Cosmic Ray of Mind (40) ruling lives of Dynamic energy (946-7)

"We need to bear in mind that ... our highest type of energy, embodying for us the purest expression of Spirit, is but the force manifestation of the first subplane of the cosmic physical plane." (EP2 5) This has to be understood in two ways: if we assume the same degree of complexity for the cosmic physical or solar planes, then the remaining 6 cosmic planes above them are subplanes of a much greater (supercosmic) set of physical planes; otherwise they are infinitely more dense in organization than depicted, and represent just 2 Kosmic planes of 7(4), as suggested by HPB's chart of the Kosmic Prakritic planes (Esoteric Writings, 435).

These planes of Prakriti, the reflection of (cosmic astral) Daiviprakriti (SD2.38; 1.17,293,430), both overshadowed by Mulaprakriti, involve solar physical incarnation, which our 7 (solar) systemic planes represent (see § 1). DK explicates this systemically as the 9, the 18, and the 27 of the Three Solar Systems (574, 585). The 9 of the previous solar system, 9 the number of initiation, can be more clearly seen in relation to the place of the creative hierarchies in solar Logoic Life (EA 38-50). The 4th creative hierarchy of humanity is the 9th if counted down, including the 5 liberated hierarchies.

All the work achieved in our Earth School of Magnetic Response, or Sensitivity, is tested on the 3rd subplane of the cosmic astral plane (1178). It is to prepare the initiate for abstraction upon the cosmic astral plane after the higher initiations (RI 166). Of course, treating as she does the 7 principles with Atma, or the Divine Ray principle, as the highest manifesting principle, HPB is dealing with those planes Lord Agni's point of view on the 3rd etheric subplane (5th or Atmic solar plane) of all the planes (WM 389).

These 7 Spirits Before the Throne are spoken of as identical with the planetary Logos throughout DK's works, except in discussion of the Council Chamber of the Lord of the World, Sanat Kumara, where they are understood as Members of the Council in close contact with the 7 sacred Planets of the solar system. They are thus seen as planetary Spirits "in direct rapport with the Planetary Logos upon His own high plane, the cosmic mental plane (RI 206). They express Will or Purpose and understand thePlan for a particular planetary incarnation. They can be assumed to be associated with Spirits from the Council Chambers of other sacred Planets (RI 422).

Those taking the higher initiations have to plunge into the sea or pool of fire which is essentially the fire of God as it has been cleansed from every aspect of the material form through the complete purification of desire. (EA 316)

Substantial Focus. The 5th degree Adept, as the 5-pointed star, enters into the Flame and becomes the 7-pointed star at the 6th and 7th initiations which occur on the atmic plane (697). The 8th and 9th initiations occur beyond our 7 cosmic physical subplanes, yet even then could be said to eventuate on the monadic plane.

Chakra Focus on Plane. The three Major Centers of the planetary Logos are under the purview of the Three Buddhas of Activity Who stand around the Lord of the World, Sanat Kumara, together with one of the Buddhas of Love — 5 Kumaras manifesting out of 9.

The Centers themselves are composed of 35 Kumaras each, Who form the cores of the Three Departments, respectively the Ruling, Teaching, and Mahachohan's Department which synthesizes the lesser found (387-8). These representatives of the Trinity work with the Lower Quarternary of the planet through the Four Lords of Karma (153, ____), who in turn work through the 4 Maharajahs (111-2, 407).

PLANETARY NAMES

cosmic Logos [as a Monad] (129-30, 689, 725-6, 1088-9, 1250)

The cosmic Sutratma or life-thread of the planetary Logos enters His highest manifestation on the highest of our planes (TEV.155).

The Purpose of Sanat Kumara is created at present by the synthesis which the nature of the final 7 Paths reveals. (TEV.120)
... the Purpose is the synthetic Thought which pours into the supernal consciousness of the Lord of the World along the 7 Paths...
... the Plan concerns the hierarchical recognition of the Purpose... (TEV.121)

The registration of Purpose from the Council Chamber and Shamballa takes place along the higher aspect of the planetary Antahkarana as it passes through the monadic substance of the Plan (TEV.118-9), down through the atmic and buddhic levels of consciousness (TEV.70). As we already know, the lower aspect of the planetary Antahkarana was already fully developed during the period of human individualization when the Heavenly Man took a particular cosmic initiation (______).

Within the ring-pass-not of the 3-fold planetary Logoic Hierarchy, the ajna relates more strictly to the 2nd CH, the Planetary Nirmanakayas (RI 406-7, 69, 735), who act as intermediaries on the planetary antahkarana (349) between the Lodge on "Venus" and the 3 centers of the Heavenly Man through the planetary 5-fold causal body. Treating the 3 centers of Shamballa, Hierarchy, and Humanity, we are also more particularly concerned with the 3-fold Sirian Personality's cosmic manasic impact (TEV 129-33) through the (Solar) Grand Heavenly Man's astral focus through two of the Buddhas of Love (702-4; 874) working with 3 Buddhas of Activity, and thus stimulating the evolution of the 12 creative hierarchies (WM 199). Here we must remember that the creative hierarchies — neither planetary nor systemic (EA 268) — represent Sirian System skandhas; are negatively polarized to the Rays (704), or solar chakras on the 2nd and 3rd subplanes (627; EA 39); and are then reflected down into the planetary ashramic chakras of the buddhic 4th plane, where our 4th Creative Hierarchy is to be found (704), only thence to 5th Hierarchy human personalities, and the 6th and 7th Creative Hierarchies of the solar Logoic dense physical.

"Therefore the whole subject of the Builders has to be studied — those entities who are the embodiment of Universal Mind, who are the animating lives within the form, and who are the Divine Manasaputras in their comprehensive totality. In the occult realization of this lies hid the secret of the close relationship between man and the deva evolution, man being the repository (through the HM of Whose body he forms a part) of the purpose of the Logos, and the devas in all their higher grades being the cohesive facto which manipulates matter, and which moulds it into shape. The two are partners, indispensable to each other, and without the two working in close cooperation this objective solar system would immediately disintegrate, just as man's dense and etheric bodies disintegrate when the Spirit withdraws, and the Builders cease their work.

"Three hierarchies in particular are concerned with objective manifestation in etheric matter, the fourth, or strictly human hierarchy, and the fifth and sixth or the deva hierarchies. The other hierarchies fulfill other purposes connected with the life of the Spirit in the higher forms in the cosmic ethers [!!], but in connection with our present subject these 3 hierarchies work on the lower levels of the cosmic physical plane the subplanes of which we call the mental, astral, and physical planes. When the five and the four are perfectly blended, we shall have achieved the nine of a major initiation, and when the six is added we shall have the resolution into one of the groups embodies by a Kumara, as has been hinted earlier. This marks the resolution of the six-pointed star finally into the five-pointed star; this is a great mystery, and concerns primarily the HM of our scheme, and only incidentally the groups within His body of etheric manifestation." (398-9)

The Five Kumaras of the 5 Rays of Manas Who enabled Brahma to individualize in the first Ray III solar system (361) are presided over by the systemic correspondence to the Mahachohan (363).

The solar permanent atom is found on the first ether of this logoic plane. (Saturn — 406)

From the point of view of a cosmic Scheme, the solar Logos is a cell in the Body of the ONE ABOUT WHOM NAUGHT MAY BE SAID (295).

On the cosmic planes, the 3 solar systems represent the Eternal Now of the solar Logos, our past, present and future (350).

The 3 Ray Logoi, utilizing the 3 Fires (Friction, Solar, Electric) represent the manifestation of the PERSONALITY OF THE SOLAR LOGOS, or the manasic point of the solar Logoic TRIAD.

Mahadeva, Vishnu, and Brahma are the Three Persons of the solar Logoic TRIAD (244).

UMaj, Sirius, Pleiades the 3 Periodic Vehicles, UMaj the Monad (_____), Sirius the solar Soul (_____), Pleaides bring solar manas to the Heavenly Men (_____).

Parabrahman might be considered the ineffable MONADIC Aspect of the solar Logos (EA 416, ______), or the Kosmic Prototype of the logoic Flame Divine. Of course, the solar Logos Monadic aspect would be found on a 6th plane — above HPB’s 5 Kosmic (Supercosmic) planes, in turn found above DK’s 7 cosmic (HPB’s Prakritic) planes. The 7 cosmic planes are only the “field of evolution” of the solar Logos (Chart at 344).

"...until it is known which cosmic Logos recognizes our solar Logos as a centre in His body, and which six other systems are affiliated with ours, it will not be possible to touch upon the systemic stage of manasic development." (402)

As the "control of the fourth Kumara [is increasingly] evidenced and felt," ... "The work of the Four Maharajahs [or Lords of Karma "Who are, in themselves, the sole recipients of the Mind purposes of that cosmic ENTITY Who enfolds our solar Logos within His consciousness" (395-6)] who apportion karma within the ring-pass-not [dhyanipashu] will reach its culminating point during the fourth round. In the next round, the work of the Lipikas [administering the Sirian Law of Karma (568-71)] who handle affairs in connection wth our system outside the ring-pass-not will become more prominent." "By a few in this round the fifth principle will be superceded by the principle of buddhi." "The consciousness of the mass of the human family will gradually pass on to the fourth subplane of the mental plane, and be more and more controlled by purely concrete mind. Unless this is paralleled by a steady influx of egos on to the buddhic plane in conscious activity, and thus out of the control of manas pure and simple, a very serious condition will have to be handled by the Hierarchy." (407)

SIRIAN SYSTEM NAMES

Fourth Order Solar System (within the Sirian System)

The 12 Constellations of the Zodiac form the 12-petalled Lotus within the head centers of the One Abut Whom Naught May Be Said (RI.339, EP1. 333, _____).

The 5(7) Kumaras responsible for manifestation relate to the 7(21) Rishis of the Hindu puranic tradition as the 7 head centers of the Shiva aspect relate to the 7 chakras of Brahma's manifestation. The Vishnu aspect of the Greater and Lesser Builders in relation to Humanity correlate these two aspects as the meridian and nadi systems in the Body of Brahma (533.III, IV; 534.V).

The Buddhist researchers into Reality denominated the Three Worlds of the Chakravala system — Kamarupa, Rupa, and Arupa dhatus or realms. They started with the Kamadhatu or emotional/psychic realm ("Mars"/"desire" realm) because the physical realm is the Chakravala system per se, thus establishing correspondences between the Kamadhatu and emotional or astral plane, which is the plane of polarization for both planetary and solar Logoi. In a similar manner, the Rupadhatu is tied in with the mental realm or plane, especially in the Mind-Only schools of Buddhist philosophy. The Arupadhatu represents the buddhic, bodhicitta, or intuitive plane — and on these systemic planes is associated with the central 4th Cosmic Ether where the 7 Rishis and their Prototypes are found.

There are only Four Stages of the Arupadhatu, because they represent the higher Quaternary of the septenary planes, and include the buddhic plane itself in their enumeration. The Kamadhatu is also sevenfold, the lower Quaternary classed together as a unit with parallel names, since they are in the solar "past" of the previous or 3rd solar system. This represents our Earth School focused in its development on the 4th subplane of the cosmic astral plane, and striving for achievement of focus on the 5th (or 3rd) subplane of the cosmic astral, in this cycle (round? Round? [-----]).

When we seek solar planes we must address the mayavic distortion of time from our miniscule human perspective and see the tri-sahasra-mahasahasra-lokadhatu system as depicting the three solar systems of the ETERNAL NOW for the solar Logos — His PERSONALITY in His THREE WORLDS.

Our major source for the Chakravala system is Vasubandu's Abhidharmakosa. Vasubandu was Aryasanga's brother. Both transmitted works by Maitreya. So early theosophists' comments on the identity link between DK and Asanga is particularly apposite.

The major source for the cosmological Tri-sahasra-mahasahasra-lokadhatu system ("Triple Chiliocosm" system) is the Avatamsaka Sutra (prior to 400 AD) associated with the Hua Yen and Tien Tai (Tendai) schools of Buddhism.
